Went to the Toronto Fall Home show today!

My fav exhibit would have to be Casalife. To be honest, I was surprised there weren't more displays like this today!

IIDEX Toronto 2012 Recap!

I had the opportunity to go to IIDEX Toronto today. I have to say, I found it more entertaining than last year. Perhaps it was because I went to a great Seminar put on by IFMA on Facility Managers & Interior Designers, and I had great company too!

Here are some of my favourite items I saw today. I realized now that I'm home, I got carried away with using my new camera and didn't always keep in mind taking a pic that included the company name in the shot as well! OOPS. Amateur mistake ;)

Chalet Fever - Blue Mountain

I was at Blue Mountain over the weekend and went for a walk and found Chalet heaven! The area is known as the Orchard at Craigleith. I couldn't help but stop and take a picture or two... let's be honest i took a lot of pics. Here are some of my favs!

Geometric Wood-Clad House

I absolutely love this house in Melbourne, Australia. The use of different materials and bold punches of colour makes every room interesting.

instacube - taking instagram to a whole new level

Well this is interesting! A new concept for viewing your instagram  feed, called instacube! It is essentially like a live picture frame, showing off photos from all your favs you follow. You can even customize what's shown. eg. you're having a party and everyone is using the same hashtag; program your instacube to display those photos only! Now your guests can watch the photos roll in through the night. Another great use would be to have it at your office desk -- I would personally find this useful because I take tons of pictures but can never remember to print them off and bring them to work!

Now don't go searching the stores for one of these just yet. It's expected to launch in 2013.

Sao Miguel - Chapel of Nossa Senhora das Vitorias

In Sao Miguel, Azores, I had the opportunity to get up close to the Chapel of Nossa Senhora das Vitorias.

Located in front of the lake at the Furnas, this Neo-Gothic style chapel was built in the 1870’s. The idea was of Jose do Canto, who had the Chapel built in memory of his wife who has passed away before him. Inside, his wife is buried and when Jose do Canto passed away, he too was buried beside her.

The Chapel is known for its beautiful stained glass depicting the Virgin. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to go inside the Chapel because it was locked up. The exterior however, although it has not been kept up over the years, was still breathtaking. I especially loved the Roman arches, and the overall look and texture of the Chapel itself.
