Bedroom Reno – Finally done!

A while ago when I first got this started, I posted “Before” pictures of my bedroom. Since my blog freak accident/crash, there’s a good chance you didn’t get to see it. Have no fear though… I’ll post those pics again. (Or maybe HAVE fear, because the before pics are that awful).

Over the past few months I’ve been working pretty hard at transforming my childhood bedroom into an adult bedroom. As you can see in the before pictures, a whole lot is going on colour wise! A combination of pink, purple, gold, and blue screams disaster.
BEFORE:

Now, with airy blues and greens I can actually go to my room and relax.

My Art Project

A few days ago I posted the Deep Square prints I ordered from Static Pixels. Today I had a chance to put them up! Using double sided tape, I got these onto my will in roughly an hour. I absolutely love the way it looks! Nothing better than having your own personal photography hanging on the wall.

Sunday Inspiration

It's Sunday!

Browsing around trying to find some inspiration and came across this room. I love the mix of old Barcelona tile floors and modern furnishings in this apartment restoration.

You’ve taken a million pictures, now what are you going to do with them?

It’s no secret that today’s world is obsessed with taking pictures. Whether you’re using your smart phone, tablet, or *gasp* an actual camera, what do you do with all these pictures?

Usually the answer is Facebook or Instagram, which is great for sharing with friends and boosting your ego with a million likes, (guilty!), but I want to actually see my pictures on something that is not an electronic device!

Recently I stumbled across an awesome website called Static Pixels. They take your Instagram photos and print them onto recycled 5” x 5” Cardboard. Thumbs up for being Eco-Friendly!

Naturally as a picture freak – I trusted these would look fantastic and ordered 12. I just got my package yesterday and I have to say I am so happy with the way these turned out! In order to not drive my friends on Instagram crazy… I made a separate account specifically for these prints and instagram’d the crap out of Architectural pictures I’ve taken over the years through travel.

Best of all, since these cardboard prints are so light, I’m going to have no problem sticking these to my wall in my bedroom… the completion of this wall is long overdue! Before I post picture of how I’ve assembled them onto my wall, here’s a preview of what they look like out of the box!

(P.S. I am ordering more :D )

You too Can Bring Alice in Wonderland Home

EEEEK! You know when you find something absolutely adorable and you have to show somebody, anybody, right away!!! Well I’m having one of those moments right now! :D

I originally saw this on facebook’s “Trust me I’m a Designer Page”, but I needed more pictures! Check out these Zoomorphic Chairs, designed by Merve Kahraman. These chairs are handmade and you may have them customized in different leathers.

I have a crush on Rodeo and 5th

Recently I’ve become obsessed with Instagram, which in turn has made me obsessed with Rodeoand5th (Instagram name). Although their retail website has yet to fully launch, they sure are keeping us intrigued with fabulous photos of interior spaces. Here are some of my favourites taken from their Instagram page.

instacube - taking instagram to a whole new level

Well this is interesting! A new concept for viewing your instagram  feed, called instacube! It is essentially like a live picture frame, showing off photos from all your favs you follow. You can even customize what's shown. eg. you're having a party and everyone is using the same hashtag; program your instacube to display those photos only! Now your guests can watch the photos roll in through the night. Another great use would be to have it at your office desk -- I would personally find this useful because I take tons of pictures but can never remember to print them off and bring them to work!

Now don't go searching the stores for one of these just yet. It's expected to launch in 2013.

São Bento Train Station – Portugal

You may have noticed by now I’ve got the travel bug. If it were up to me (aka if I had the money) I would leave town and spend a couple months exploring Europe. But until then, all I can do is explore Europe from my fingertips. Thanks Google.

With a French Renaissance touch, this train station (previously a convent) was completed in 1916. The interior is covered in azulejo - ceramic panels, showing historic events painted by Jorge Colaço.

Other fun facts: the station itself is a 15 minute walk to the Port Wine industry where you can get free tours and samples. The Portuguese make sure you travel with your bellies and mind satisfied. ;)
